A Quick Note Before We Start

This Terms of Service is a work in progress.

We’re building something new, and we can’t think of everything all at once. As the network grows and we learn what we need, this document will grow too. We’ll always let the community know when things change, and we’ll always try to explain why they changed.

If something isn’t covered here yet — use common sense, don’t be an asshole, and when in doubt, ask.

1. What This Covers

This Terms of Service applies to all platforms, spaces, and content operating under:

• Kharlemagne (parent brand)

• Kharlemagne Presents (featured projects and productions)

• Kharlemagne Productions (creative works and media)

This includes but is not limited to:

• KrossVerses KVN3 (KrossVerses Network) — Discord communitys — Substack publication

• By.Kharlemagne — Commerce platform

• BFF Empire — Gaming brand

• Label K — Music production

• Kodex — Worldbuilding/universe hub

And any future platforms, projects, or spaces launched under these brands.

Legal Structure: This ecosystem operates as a sole proprietorship under Kharlemagne.

2. The KrossVerses Network (KVN3) — Core Terms

KVN3 is the heart of what we’re building. These terms are especially important for anyone participating in the Discord community or contributing to KrossVerses.

2.1 Content License

By participating in KVN3 spaces (Discord, Substack, affiliated platforms), you grant KrossVerses Network a perpetual, royalty-free license to:

• Feature, promote, and reference your contributions

• Create content using your contributions (spotlights, compilations, showcases, promotional materials, etc.)

• Continue using your contributions in these ways even if you leave the community

You still own your work. This license gives us permission to use it — it doesn’t transfer ownership to us.

2.2 Network Member License (The Collaboration Clause)

By participating in KVN3, you also grant other network members permission to:

• Create promotional, feature, and derivative content using your work (clips, compilations, highlights, showcases, etc.)

• Monetize that content (AdSense, platform monetization, etc.)

• Use your content for portfolio and resume building purposes

The intent: Creators get free marketing. Promoters and curators build portfolios and can earn revenue. Traffic flows back to original creators. Everyone grows together.

Requirements:

• Attribution is required (credit and/or link to original creator)

• This doesn’t transfer ownership — you still own your work

• This applies to content shared within network spaces

2.3 DMCA / Copyright Understanding

By joining KVN3, you agree that use of your content by other network members within the terms described above is pre-authorized.

This means:

• You will not file copyright strikes or DMCA claims against other network members using your content for promotional, feature, or collaborative purposes as described in this agreement

• If you have an issue with how your content is being used, you agree to address it through the community first (talk to us, talk to the member) before taking external action

We can’t make you waive federal rights — but you’re agreeing that this use is authorized, which means there’s nothing to claim against.

2.4 The Philosophy

“We grow WITH you, not OFF you.”

The network doesn’t take cuts of your earnings. We don’t make demands on what you create or how often. These content terms exist to make collaboration easier and safer — not to exploit anyone.

If any of this ever starts feeling exploitative, something has gone wrong and we need to fix it.

3. Basic Expectations

These apply everywhere under the Kharlemagne ecosystem:

• Don’t be an asshole. Seriously. That’s the rule.

• Respect other members. Harassment, hate speech, and targeted attacks aren’t tolerated.

• Don’t exploit the community. This is a space for mutual growth, not extraction.

• Credit people. If you use someone’s work, say so.

• Use common sense. If something feels wrong, it probably is.

4. Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to participate in KVN3 spaces (Discord’s minimum requirement).

Some content or spaces may have higher age requirements where appropriate.

5. Termination

We reserve the right to remove members who:

• Violate these terms

• Harm the community or its members

• Act in bad faith

If you’re removed, the content licenses described above remain in effect for content already shared.

6. Changes to These Terms

This document will be updated as we figure things out. When it changes:

• We’ll announce it in community spaces

• We’ll update the “Last Updated” date

• We’ll try to explain what changed and why

Continued participation after changes means you accept the updated terms.

8. The Honest Part

This Terms of Service isn’t perfect. It’s not comprehensive. There’s probably stuff we haven’t thought of yet.

But we’d rather have something honest and in-progress than nothing at all, or worse — some copy-pasted legal wall that nobody reads and doesn’t actually reflect how we operate.

We’re building this together. These terms will grow as we do.
